This insurance provides extensive protection to the firm and its practising lawyers against potential claims arising from professional errors committed during the provision of legal services.
In case a client files a claim, the law firm reports the matter to insurer AIG, which then assesses the incident, liability, and any resulting damages. After review, the policy may cover the costs of legal proceedings, legal representation, or compensation. This insurance protects both the firm and its individual lawyers against the consequences of professional errors. Under Dutch regulations, such a policy is mandatory for every law firm, enhancing client protection and transparency in legal services.
